What's on this Christmas
November 26th, 27th, 28th
The Tythe Barn at Christmas will open its doors for 2009!
We have lots of great new ideas for gifts this year, along with presents for stocking fillers and a wonderful selection of gorgeous Christmas decorations.
This year we have a range of jute bags ethically sourced from Bangladesh in wonderful colours - an ideal present.
We have ideas for gift wrapping with our range of eco friendly, re-cycled Christmas wrapping paper and lovely bio-degradable ribbons made from wood pulp, ensuring that your gifts will be a pleasure to receive.
You can also order your door wreath and watch demonstrations on how to create that special seasonal centre piece for the Christmas dinner table.
December 3rd, 4th, 5th
Fiona Payne will join us on Saturday with her fabulous range of cushions and table runners made from mangle fabric. This utilitarian fabric was made from pure linen in Eastern Europe until the begining of 1940. It was used to wrap and protect delicate fabrics such as lace from being damaged in the mangle after washing. Fiona has used this fabric, which is 70 years old, to make wonderful cushions with warm earthy tones and subtle red stripes.
Anne Ratnarajah will also be here demonstrating willow weaving with a christmas theme. Anne uses willow cut from the farm and will be running a course in the new year to show us how to weave - do talk to her for more details.
Marilyn returns with her spinning wheel having just come back from a spinning convention in Connecticut. She will be using fleece from the Belgrove's farm at Longwick as well as alpaca wool.
December 10th 11th 12th
Paul Wright will join us on Saturday with honey from Manor Farm, along with the Belgroves and their apple juice, and locally made chutneys, marmalade and christmas cakes to sample!
December 18th ,19th Friday and Saturday...
We shall be open for the last weekend before Christmas.
A chance for you to buy last minute pick ups.
Come and join us for a glass of mulled apple juice as you meet the producers and stock up on last minute gifts.
We will also be selling Florence Nightingale cards over all three weekends. Sorry sold out now.
So do join us for a (warm) welcome - wrap up well, this beautiful barn can be rather chilly! We look forward to seeing you.
We would like to wish you all a Happy Christmas and Best wishes for the New Year. From us all at The Tythe Barn.
